On Businesses
Postal, Courier and Delivery Firms
Those businesses that make money from the actual delivery of goods to our doors will be seriously impacted by localnet - to the extent that many of their delivery staff should transfer to localnet.
Shops and Businesses serving the localnet area
By this, we mean those businesses whose customers are the residents of the localnet area - in or near which they are also, typically located. These will either take advantage of the localnet services to get closer to their customers - satisfying orders via localnet - or they will find themselves out-competed by start-ups that do this should they fail to.
Businesses located within the localnet area
Businesses in the area but whose products and customers lie further afield will not be directly impacted by localnet to anything like the extent of those serving the residents of the area. However, they should strive to take advantage of the localnet services.
These will allow some businesses more flexibility to have staff working from home - as the localnet will provide a fast, efficient and cost-effective way of passing materiel between workers and the factory. Some may find they no longer need a central location and become “virtual” businesses.
All businesses should find that the greater ease with which local residents can get to and from their premises via public transport increases the pool of people for whom a job with them is a viable and economically attractive option.
